What better way is there to enjoy the infamous Barossa Valley food and wine region than a no-fuss, no worries, fully-chartered excursion with the crew at Adelaide Sightseeing?!
Whether you’re new to the wine scene or are a fully-fledged wine enthusiast, the Barossa Valley has you covered – think picturesque rolling hills with vineyards as far as the eye can see, delectable menus built on the freshest of local produce, and of course, some of the world’s finest drops of Shiraz.
The Barossa Valley is approximately 45 minutes from Adelaide so is perfectly positioned to offer an easy day out of the city for any visitor (or local!). With a plethora of wine to taste test and enjoy – the only problem is, who’s going to drive?! Well, I’m happy to report that the team at Adelaide Sightseeing have thought of it all and pulled out all the stops – literally! This team knows how to pull off a fantastic day, from a you-beaut designated driver to a fabulous itinerary filled with wine tastings, a two-course lunch, and of course a stop at the chocolate factory before you know it!
Start With A Wine Tasting At Pindarie Wines
You’ll start your day aboard one of their luxury liners, journeying out between the vineyards to stop number one: Pindarie Wines. You’ll enjoy sampling their award-winning drops whilst admiring the rich history of this family-owned estate – made even more memorable by the ever so charming cellar door, converted from one of the original sandstone stables. Following the tasting, you’ll soak up the sun and those views with a side of morning tea under their classic wraparound veranda – you know, the kind that our farmhouse dreams are made of…
Next Stop: Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop
Next stop, a Barossa must-see, is Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop. If you’re lucky, you may even get a chance to chat with and learn from internationally known chef and foodie icon, Maggie Beer herself. Maggie’s incredible farm shop has it all – wine, gin, tasty treats, gourmet cooking essentials and a stunning estate all to explore at your leisure. Don’t forget to take a quick selfie with that famous The Cook and The Chef kitchen!
Don’t fill up too much though because there’s more to come!
A Two-Course Lunch At Lambert Estate
Your two-course lunch and wine pairing await down the road at Lambert Estate – with panoramic views of the region outside and exciting artwork from local creative genius’ inside. Enjoy the private dining experience alongside family anecdotes of how the Lambert Estate came to be.
On your way to your final destination, you’ll take an insta-worthy intermission at Mengler Hill to take in the sweeping views of the Barossa – a scene perfectly fit for the front cover of your next inflight magazine.
Indulge At The Barossa Valley Chocolate Factory
Last but certainly not least is a sweet stop to sample the creamiest of chocolates at the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company. Let the adventures of the day melt away with a few blocks of the smoothest and most soothing milk chocolate on offer, and if that’s not enough to send your taste buds into a frenzy after the day, they’ve got wine pairings to compliment. Chocolate and wine – the perfect end to any day! You’ll tell yourself you’re stocking up on their choccy truffles to share with friends when you get home but you and I both know they’re probably not going to make it that far…
